Headlines: More on TTC Hoax and Laser Bikelanes
posted by Joe on Thursday, January 29, 2009
Torontoist: I Bike On (The TTC)
With the assistance of at least one like-minded organization and several like-minded individuals, URS managed to sticker the entire system on Sunday. "We broke down the stations into numbers that groups of people could sticker," a member of URS tells Torontoist. "That's how we organized it, to cover the full thing. There was no point otherwise."
Toronto Star: For cyclists, a bright solution
A laser mounted on the rear of the bike projects sharp, bright lines behind the cyclist, creating a virtual and movable bike lane. In principle, the LightLane gives drivers a boundary, a way of measuring their distance from the cyclist, and creates for cyclists the sense – even if illusory – of their own space on the road.
