Globe & Mail: Cab driver denied bail after alleged hit-and-run

Bail was denied yesterday for a Maple, Ont., taxi driver facing multiple charges in an alleged hit-and-run in downtown Toronto 11 days ago that cost a cyclist a portion of his right leg, amputated above the knee. Chris Kasztelewicz, 36, has had a series of major operations since being crushed against a hydro pole by a taxi allegedly driven by Sultan Ahmed.

CityNews: One Killed, Another Injured In Separate Incidents On Toronto Streets

A second crash left a cyclist in hospital with head injuries and a broken leg. He was riding his bike at Albion and Kipling when he was hit by a car around 7:50pm. While the 32-year-old's injuries are serious, the good news is that they don't appear to be life threatening.
