Should we separate modes of traffic, or keep everyone together and let people learn to deal with one another?


When it was posted on bike promotion site TaketheTooker, a commenter complained "Misguided cyclists like bike lanes because they have the mistaken belief that they must “stay out of the way of cars.” No; it is the motorist’s responsibility to avoid hitting you, a rightful user of the road.....Why do we need all this extra paint and infrastructure when we can accomplish the same thing just by squashing this ridiculous notion that cyclists are somehow “second class” road users?"
