T.O. Cyclists who Blog:

A Toronto cyclist was doored today by a cab, and we all know that while some cabs drive responsibly, there are a whole lot who don't and drive dangerously in pursuit of fares.

It's a whole lot worse when the cabbie doesn't stick around to see if the cyclist is okay after getting hit by their door:
Hello fellow bikers,

I need some help. I need some extra eyes on the lookout for an Orange Cab (Not beck. Might be an independant) that doored me this morning.

I was going south on Bay and was slowing to turn right at Richmond. He was not pulled over and did not signal. His fare swung open the door so quickly that I had 0 time to react. I slammed into the door and the fare took off. The cabbie was reluctant to get out of the cab and never asked me if I was ok. Just watched as a lady asked me if I was alright. I was crying and in complete shock. I ended up walking away but had the presence of mind to get the plate #. It's ATXE 047. If anyone sees it can they grab the Cab Plate # for me?

Apparently it's the best way to find the Cabbie. He'll be charged because he should have pulled over to the complete right so that I could go around him safely.

Thanks for your help!

Cheryl C.

Keep your eyes open for license ATXE 047, and note the cabbie number for Cheryl!
