You may remember our post about the meeting for new bikelanes in Ward 21 (Joe Mihevc's stomping ground) a couple weeks ago...

Well, you'll be happy to know that Inside Toronto is reporting that it was well attended and supportive of cycling infrastructure in Ward 21:
"I think it would be fair to say there was strong support for increasing bike networks in our ward," said Mihevc.
The city recently approved $3 million in its 2007 budget for the expansion of the city's bicycle network.
The plan involves not just dedicated bicycles lanes but "sharrows" which are lanes designated for use by cyclists and drivers alike.
"It will be painted with chevrons and bicycle stamps designating to cyclists and drivers that this lane should be shared," said Mihevc. "This has worked well in other cities. It gives motorist a sense they have to share it and cyclists a sense that it is their road too."

The bikelanes and sharrows could be implemented as early as this summer.
